The Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce invites the community and visitors from across the region to step back in time and celebrate the legacy of America’s WWII paratroopers during Currahee Military Weekend, October 2–5, 2025.
In July 1942, more than 5,000 men arrived at Camp Toccoa to begin training at the foot of Currahee Mountain. Over the following years, 17,000 soldiers of the 501st, 506th, 511th, and 517th Parachute Infantry Regiments trained here before deploying overseas to defend freedom. This annual event honors their service and preserves their story for generations to come.
