Camp Toccoa Hosts Easy Company Heritage Weekend Celebrating Band of Brothers

Camp Toccoa at Currahee hosted the Easy Company Heritage Weekend, April 24–26, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers and honoring the legacy of the soldiers who trained at the site.

Organized by Toccoa Tours, the weekend offered a multi-day immersive experience connecting visitors to the story of Easy Company, the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division. Activities include a USO-style dinner, guided tours of Camp Toccoa, and a group hike up Currahee Mountain—made famous by the soldiers’ training runs.

The program also featured special screenings of Episodes 1 and 2 of Band of Brothers, each followed by live Q&A sessions with members of the production team and cast. Attendees had access to exclusive commemorative items, including limited-edition challenge coins, along with a range of ticket packages from single events to full weekend experiences with accommodations.

The event highlighted the enduring cultural impact of Band of Brothers and its role in introducing new generations to the history of World War II.

“The connection between Camp Toccoa and Band of Brothers has brought global attention to this historic site,” said Ed Coleman, Chairman of the Georgia WWII Heritage Trail. “Events like the Easy Company Heritage Weekend ensure that the stories of these soldiers continue to resonate, while also reinforcing the Trail’s mission to make Georgia’s World War II history accessible and meaningful to today’s audiences.”

As part of the Georgia WWII Heritage Trail, Camp Toccoa at Currahee serves as a powerful example of how local history can carry national—and even international—significance. The Trail invites visitors to explore these stories across its partner sites throughout the state.
