The Georgia World War II Heritage Trail proudly welcomes Dr. Whitney Nell Stewart as the new Executive Director of the Coastal Georgia Historical Society and the World War II Home Front Museum, a founding partner of the Trail.

Dr. Stewart, who previously served as Director of Collections & Education, brings strong leadership and a deep commitment to interpreting Georgia’s coastal home-front history. Her appointment strengthens the long-standing partnership between CGHS and the Trail as we continue expanding statewide educational and heritage tourism initiatives.

“Dr. Stewart’s energy, expertise, and vision will elevate the work of both the Historical Society and the Trail,” said Trail Chair Ed Coleman. “We look forward to collaborating with her as we bring more of Georgia’s World War II story to audiences across the state.”

The Trail also extends its sincere appreciation to Sheri Jones for her instrumental role in founding the Trail and for her years of service to Coastal Georgia’s historical community.

The Georgia WWII Heritage Trail congratulates Dr. Stewart and looks forward to a strong and engaging partnership in the years ahead.
